The end of February is less than a week away and by looking at my goal calendar, I think it's safe to say this month won't be one of the stronger ones.

I had a lot going on - from trips to Maui to running an 8-mile race - and exercise and nutrition just weren't on track… but there's six more days left in the month and hell if I don't try to end STRONG!

February = F.A.I.L.

F - Forget about what you coulda/woulda/shoulda done.  Nothing you do now will change the past.

A - Accountability.  Make yourself accountable… to yourself… more than you normally would.  Next month, blog, Facebook, Tweet, text, etc. your goals to everyone.  You will be more likely to stick to them if you have to prove to others you can do it.

I - Ignore those feelings of guilt.  I know, easier said than done, but for real, don't beat yourself up about the mistakes you made.  Learn from them (see letter "L").  To take a quote from one of my favorite t.v. shows, "Struggle is nature's way of strengthening it you."  Bonus points if you know where that quote came from (without Googling it).

L - Learn from your mistakes.  Ate too much take-out this month (umm, yes!)?  Then eat less take-out next month.  Didn't make it to gym as often as you wanted to (umm, yes!)?  Then schedule gym time on your calendar NOW and stick to it.  Ask yourself, what can you do next month to make it more successful than this month.

What are you going to do to end February strong?

I really needed this post today Annie. You have made some very good points that I need to take on board. I especially need to work on 'I'. I have been struggling with guilt around some less than stellar eating decisions this month and it's ended with me back in the vicious circle of eating to make myself feel better. Thanks for another great post :)

Thanks for the motivation to stay on track today. Your comment is what kept me from falling into a food coma. I'm going to finish February strong by not going negative in my points. Hopefully, I will hit 130 by the end of the month. Fingers crossed! If not, then definitely March!

Very good points! I needed to hear them too, since I'm approaching the end of Feb deadline I naively set for myself on 1/31. I'm not even halfway to it, and if I start despairing that fact now, I'm not likely to get there by the end of March either.

I hope to see positive and promising things from you this week and in the coming month, since you are (officially and single handedly) my online weight-loss-blog-support-team. Plus, your under-appreciated cute pink running outfit has me very motivated to wear something similar by the summer and not only look fit and toned in it, but maybe even be able to run non-stop for over a mile in it. (>gasp!<)

Blog away, please! I'm counting on you!

Thanks for remind me not what to dwell on... February has not been a great month for me either. :) March! Now that is going to be a killer month.

Hi Annie! I should have known that your "fail" post would be inspiring. I will think about this.
