Weigh-in Wednesday: 139.0

Last Wed. weight: 139.2
Today's weight: 139.0
Loss: -0.2

So I'm still holding steady in the 130's, barley, but I'm having a hard time believing that I left the dreaded decade of 140. I'm just gonna take it day by day and see how it goes... keep on keeping on!

So over the last week, I've had not one, not two, but three comments thrown my way about my weight-loss from co-workers. They were all good comments (having someone ask you if your sick because you've lost so much weight is a compliment, right?) but what surprised me was the fact that it came from people who see me everyday at work. This tells me one of two things:
1.) 37+ lbs. gone doesn't make a big difference on my 5'0" frame or
2.) I don't get noticed that often at work

For my mental-sake, I'm hoping it's #2!

I've just been thrown off a little by these all-of-a-sudden comments. Why now? And if losing that weight hasn't made a difference on me, then I have a WAYS more to go... damn it!

You know what I think? I think sometimes the weight loss takes a little time to really catch up with you. I know that sounds nuts...but really...it takes a while to get some new clothes that fit right, and for all the saggy skin to tighten back up. People still ask me all the time if I've lost weight when in reality, I've gained a few pounds. Anyway, just bask in the GLORY of the 130's! :o)

I think some people are afraid to say things about a woman's weight, unless it's REALLY obvious you've lost a lot of weight.

I bet people just don't comment because weight can be a very touchy subject for some people. They never know if saying "have you lost weight?" will offend someone (WHY that would offend someone, I don't know - I would LOVE that!) but I guess some people might assume that by asking that, they are implying that they were "fat" before... either way - congrats on your loss! :)

You know, I think that part of it might be that it's hard to see a difference if you SEE a person every day... I know for me, my family didn't pay any attention to the first 10 pounds, or even 15, but once I hit the 20's it was like a light bulb went off. It's so gradual that people you're around all the time don't notice as quickly. Now, run into someone who hasn't seen you in a long time, and I guarantee they'll see it quick! Your most recent pictures show sooooooo much difference, Annie-and that's coming from someone who doesn't see you very often! ;0)

Great job on getting into the 130's!

Sometimes people who see you everyday don't notice when you lose weight at first. It takes awhile. Great job!!

Haha, I got asked the same question. Are you sick, because you look like you've lost weight?

In my case I had teeth pulled out at the dentist and it has affected the kind of foods I can eat now. Liquids vs Solids. LOL

Anyway, I asked my husband if he notices the small weight loss... since he sees me everyday... and he said that its only when he sits back and really looks at me that he realizes I am half the woman I was when he married me. I wasn't sure how to take that either. LOL

Keep up the good work. I'm sure the 130's will fly by!

Lianne - I think you have hit the changing from the inside out stage! It seems to me that all this change that has taken place on the inside is now showing on the outside. I would brace yourself for continuing floods of comments. Don't let them change you back to your old ways use those comments as fuel for that fire you have taken so long to build! Keep going girl I have a feeling your plateau is o-v-e-r!
