CLX/P90X Hybrid: Day 1

Had a very early day today but still got in my workout!

This evening I started my ChaLean Extreme (CLX) and Power 90 Extreme (P90X) hybrid and it felt so good! I started out with CLX Burn Circuit 1 and ended my workout with Ab Ripper X (ARX - so many abbreviations, right?!) and all I can say is I forgot what a beast ARX is! I hate it and love it. Even though it's only 15 minutes long, you combine over 300 core workouts in those L-O-N-G 15 minutes and they hurt! On the recommendation of my trainer, I'm only doing 12 reps of each exercise in ARX instead of the 25 you're suppose to do. Mostly because the CLX workouts all combine ab work with each strength move. Think push-ups with leg lifts, lunges with core rotation, sumo squats with hip lifts and bench presses with leg lift/lower.

I totally forgot what a good workout I can get at home.

And this is important because some people think you can only get in shape with a gym membership and that's so not true! I love the gym but not because I think that's the only way to get in shape. Anyway, here are my starting stats:

After looking over my first round of CLX stats, I can't be disappointed with how far I've come. Just gotta keep reminding myself that this is a marathon, not a sprint.

On a side note, I'm planning on doing a write up of CLX and P90X because I've been getting a lot of questions about the program, but please keep in mind that I do not sell/earn money from any of these programs. I'm just a very satisfied customer.

I was totally thinking of you yesterday!!! Glad to hear it was such a success! Looking forward to a write up on CLX...may be something I'd be interested in!

Keep up the GREAT work, and I'm excited to see your progress in 30/60/90 days!

Yeah Annie!!! I did my first day today. =) I'm right there with you. Of course I'm "only" doing Turbo Jam so definitely not as extreme as yours but it's all about baby steps right??? I will be looking forward to your reviews and seeing if that will be my next step!!! =)

I ordered CLX a while back while I was still doing P90X. I was going to start CLX in the fall, before I hurt my back. Now I guess I'll have to wait until I'm healed, but I'll be looking forward to what you have to say about the program. I'm sure it will be a while before I'll be well enough to do it, but I am looking forward to that day. Good luck with it!

Great first post for you workout program. In a couple months you will be burning up the ARX sessions! I know that CLX really works the core so the fact that you did ARX after CLX is a testimony to your current fitness level. I like the chart you created. Are you doing regular, on the toes push ups? If so, that is a great starting number. Keep it the good work!

@Boomer - Yes, sir! Those would your standard TOE push ups! I did the 100 push-up challenge twice last year and I've kept doing push-ups since. I'm working on the one-handed and plyo push-ups with my trainer now.
